The Journal of Software(ISSN 1000-9825) is a Chinese comprehensive academic journal of computer software which is jointly hosted by the Institute of software, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (ISCAS) and China Computer Federal (CCF). Founded in 1990, the Journal of Software focuses on the latest innovative high-level scientific and technological achievements of great significance in the field of computer software. It advocates academic democracy and promotes academic discussion and exchange of the researchers in and out of China.

The Journal of Software(ISSN 1000-9825) is mainly interested in well-defined theoretical results and empirical studies that have potential impact on the construction, analysis, management, or application of computer software. Its scope ranges from the mechanisms through the development of principles to the application of those principles to specific environments. Specific topic areas include: theoretical computer science, algorithm design and analysis, system software and software engineering, pattern recognition and artificial intelligence, database technology, computer networks, information security, computer graphics and computer-aided design, multimedia technology and other computer software related interdisciplinary.

How to submit
To submit a manuscript, please visit the website of Journal of Software(ISSN 1000-9825) at http://www.jos.org.cn/josen/ch/author/login.aspx.
The detailed contact information of the first author and corresponding author is required (please promptly inform the editorial office of any change of contacting addresses). The authors may recommend 2–5 qualified reviewers and/or request the exclusion of specific reviewers. An informative cover letter is considered helpful for editors and reviewers to evaluate your paper. However, if you have problems with the online submission, please contact editorial office at jos@iscas.ac.cn.
 
 
Reviewing policy
All submissions will be reviewed by referees selected by the scientific editor. The decision of acceptance or rejection of a manuscript is made by the editorial board based on the referees' reports. The entire review process may take 90 to 180 days, and the editorial office will inform the author of the decision as soon as the process is completed. If the editorial board fails to make a decision within 180 days, it is up to the authors to decide whether they would withdraw their paper and submit it elsewhere. The editorial office will stop the review process as long as the withdraw notification is received.
 
 
Authorship
Authorship should be limited to those who have contributed substantially to the work, and every author has responsibility for the data and argument mentioned in the paper. The corresponding author must have obtained permission from all authors for the submission of each version of the paper and for any change in authorship.
 
 
Copyright  assignment
(1) Authors should submit a paper on the understanding that the work and its essential substance have not been published before and contains no materials the publication of which would violate any copyright or other personal or proprietary right of any person or entity.
(2) Authors agree to transfer to the Editorial Office of China Surface Engineering the copyright of the above-named manuscript. The copyright transfer covers the exclusive right to reproduce and distribute the article, including reprints, translations, photographic reproductions, microform, electronic form (offline, online) or any other reproductions of similar nature.
(3) Authors has other intellectual rights such as patent rights. Moreover, author has the right to use the copies of part or full article in research, summary, lecture, or class teaching.

The journal is a member of the “Cambridge Scientific Abstracts”, “Abstract Journals”, “CNKI Data”, and other related indexing databases as shown in the section of “Abstracting and indexing”. The articles published on the journal will appear in the indexing databases. If the author does not wish for the article to appear in this form, you should state so. Authors should sign the copyrights transfer statement.

 
After acceptance
For the paper with a great breakthrough result, quick publication will be arranged. After typesetting, page proof is usually sent electronically as email attachments to the corresponding author. The proof plus any minor corrections must be returned to the managing editor within 36 hours. Failure to do this will result in delays in publication. Corrections can be noticed in different ways: 1) highlight the corrections and send us the print proof pages; 2) fax us the corrections; 3) highlight the corrections and send us the corrected page proof as email attachment.
 
 
After publication
Two sample copies per paper will be presented to the corresponding author. If offprints and more sample copies are required, please contact the managing editor and pay the extra fee. The full text opens freely to the readers at http://www.jos.org.cn/josen/ch/reader/issue_browser.aspx.
 
 
Charges
Journal of Software (ISSN 1000-9825) has no article submission charge. The article processing charge is 220RMB(¥220) per page for the author(s).
