    Abstract:

    Occlusion analysis is a primary function of a mandibular movement simulation system. In this paper, the advantages and drawbacks of concurrent occlusion analysis algorithms are reviewed, and a novel occlusion analysis algorithm based on oriented bounding box trees is proposed by generalizing the Separating Axis Theorem. By means of Heuristic Search, Branch and Bound method and Voronoi Diagram, the algorithm analyzes occlusion on complicated denture models precisely and quickly, which solved the practical problem in the application of VR technologies in dentistry.
