In this paper, the author takes parallel matrix multiplication as an example to see how their parallel implementations are under PVM, EXPRESS and NX environments. By analyzing this simple problem, the strategies of parallel programming are summarized for general purposes. The given parallel programming method is specially useful for parallel porting of a large scale application. The purpose of this paper is to provide a reference for scientists who want to write parallel programs.
